Kiln Dried Hardwood Firewood Logs

OAK is a denser hardwood which burns more slowly

To simply order quantities of kiln dried nets of firewood logs for delivery direct to your door - mix and match different nets in your basket.

Delivery is either by Courier, Pallet or our own Van and Driver (Local Area Delivery)

Options are given depending on the overall weight and destination.

  • each log cut to 25cm length
  • guaranteed under 20% moisture content
  • packed tightly into 40 litre net bags
  • sustainably sourced hardwood

Among one of the best types of firewood to burn, oak burns hot and long and gives a great heat output.  It can be difficult to split due to the grain being more uneven and takes longer to dry due to the denseness of the grain.

Most species of Oak are dark coloured.  The logs can be irregular and jagged in places and are heavier as a result of the length of time it takes to grow.  This dense characteristic also makes it unsuitable for starting most fires, instead being used once the fire is well established to sustain the heat output.

PACKAGING MAY VARY - ALL WEIGHTS AND MEASUREMENTS ARE APPROXIMATE

There are several benefits to burning kiln dried oak firewood in a woodburning stove:

  1. Efficient: Kiln dried firewood has a lower moisture content than green (unseasoned) firewood, which means that it burns hotter and more efficiently. This means that you'll get more heat for your money and reduce the amount of firewood you need to burn.

  2. Long-lasting: Kiln dried oak firewood has a high density and a high calorific value, which means that it burns slowly and provides a long-lasting heat source.

  3. Easy to ignite: The low moisture content of kiln dried firewood makes it easy to ignite, so you won't have to struggle to get your fire started.

  4. Safe: The kiln drying process removes any pests or bacteria that may be present in the wood, making it safer to burn.

  5. Aesthetically pleasing: Oak is a beautiful wood with a unique grain pattern, making it an attractive choice for your woodburning stove.

Overall, kiln dried oak firewood is an excellent choice for anyone looking to heat their home with a woodburning stove. It is efficient, long-lasting, easy to ignite, and safe to burn, making it a convenient and reliable heat source.

Decided to try oak having used ash and birch previously- great delivery service as usual.and stacked where I wanted. These oak logs burn slower than birch and about same heat as ash. Will use again - recommended!
