Dog Days are over

Posted by

The dog days or dog days of summer are the hot, sultry days of summer. Historically they were the days in the period following the heliacal rising of the star system Sirius ("The Dog Star")

Hellenistic astrology connected Sirius with heat, drought, sudden thunderstorms, lethargy, fever, mad dogs, and bad luck. They are now taken to be the hottest, most uncomfortable part of summer in the Northern Hemisphere.

Here at Reservoir Logs the dog days have always signalled the start of the new season in earnest and the rain today has just solidified that.

There are still many good days to come before the end of Summer but the clever wood burner starts their winter wood store early.

We've been enjoying having a breather from the full on rush of Winter deliveries especially in the run up to Christmas.  Apart from that we have some good things happening for our local area delivery customers for this upcoming Season so stay tuned!

All items are in stock so get your order in now!  We've had price rises from almost every aspect of our operation but we're working hard to counter these by streamlining and automating our processes.  We hope to be able to continue through this coming Season without any price increases.
