A very popular choice and known to be one of the best types of firewood to burn, Ash burns hot and long and gives a great heat output. It is relatively easy to split and stacks well.
Ash is a broadleaf tree and can grown for hundreds of years. The bark is dark compared to the light tone of the internal and is tight onto the log. Ash firewood logs will burn red hot even on a newly established fire.
Ash is becoming more difficult to source for the woodfuel market and as such the price has steadily increased over the past few years. We recommend using Ash among other more sustainable types of hardwood to keep your fire burning hot and bright!

Our second load of ash logs, in their convenient nets. We've had birch before: excellent, a touch cheaper, but rather quick burning. The ash burns more slowly, being denser, and this probably compensates for the difference in price. The flames are wonderfully clear and bright, and the output of heat quite remarkable. From now on, it will be ash for us.
